So it's finally time for The Closet's first blog!

A few months ago we started to brainstorm ideas to find a way we could showcase our new summer collection and we wondered how best to go about it. Which other companies could we work with? Who would we invite? Where would hold the event?...

Well last week it happened. We had a fantastic star studded 'Summer Showcase' event with Andrew Collinge in Liverpool at his salon on Castle Street. Our beautiful dresses were on the catwalk, hair done by Andrew Collinge to promote the launch of the new Tigi hair collection, make-up by his talented wife Liz Collinge, Cinderella-me shoes, Boodles diamonds and drinks and canapes from The Noble House. We even had amazing cupcakes courtesy of www.thecupoflovebakery.co.uk.

All in all it was a perfect evening. Backstage was pretty hectic, dresses strewn everywhere but the models were true professionals. We had a few sticky moments but it all looked seamless out front, much to my relief! I definitely deserved the glass of ice cold fruity Pimm's cocktails that was waiting for me after the catwalk show was over... however all the cupcakes had been eaten by the time I got to them, they must've been good!

The paparazzi waited outside in the pouring rain as some of the Hollyoaks & Coronation Street cast, including Gemma Merna, Jess Fox, Holly Quin Ankrah and Jorgie Porter to name but a few, came along to support us. Some of the girls even wore The Closet dresses! Check out our facebook page to see who wore what!

The night ended with an amazing goody bag and then we went onto The Noble House for cocktails. Some rather interesting dance moves by The Closet's very own Claire Cooper & Nicole Barber-Lane (Myra McQueen) kept me entertained till the early hours of the morning.

However the glitz and glamour of the night was soon forgotten the next day as I helped carry A superlambana we used for the event through the streets of Liverpool. From wearing a beautiful white asymmetric Forever Unique dress by night to topshop jeans and uggs by day who says celebrities are always glamorous! I certainly did not look fresh faced.

All in all organising a catwalk show can be tiring and stressful but most of all it's sooooo much fun! The dresses looked fantastic, the models were phenomenal and Andrew Collinge got so involved he handed out the canapes himself.

With all that in mind would I do it again???

.......DEFINITELY!

Till next time.
